Have you ever had to reboot your phone, tablet or computer because it stops functioning as it should? Computerized devices get bogged down with loads of information, cookies, images, searches, and so on until the device is running slow and not processing info correctly. We too sometimes need a reset. We get bogged down with all of the daily grind and challenges of life, and soon we notice our mind cluttered with anxious thoughts and we begin struggling to have faith for areas for which it was once easier to have faith. This is one of the great benefits of fasting and spending extra time with God, it resets our hearts and minds and brings us back to a deep place in the Spirit.

Romans 8:6 says, "Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].”

Wow! How important is it that we learn to submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit and His way of thinking rather than our own?

Recently I was struggling to believe for a certain area of our lives. One morning I was praying and I said to the Lord, "God I need Scripture. If this stuff is your will, then I need Scripture to back it up!" I had an answer in seconds! The Lord directed me to Philippians 4:13, "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." At first I couldn't understand what exactly this verse had to do with the area I was praying for, but soon I realized that God will help me with anything and everything! Through this He confirmed His will to me.

During this 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting, I challenge you to prioritize seeking God like never before. Through this time you will notice your mind undergoing a reset as anxiety, fear, hopelessness, and unbelief are replaced by faith, hope, love, peace, and joy. And when we get God's perspective and begin to feel emotions and think thoughts that are based in the Kingdom of God, that's when great things begin to happen!

Stay the course in this time of prayer and fasting! You'll be so glad you did!
