“‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land,’ says the Lord of hosts,” Malachi 3:10.
Jesus talked about money 16 out of 38 of His parables. The Bible devotes 500 verses to prayer, 500 verses to faith, and 2,000 verses to money and possessions. Less than 10% of the Christians in the nation obey this scripture and we wonder why the Gospel languishes in America and why Christians live way below their financial potential!
The tithe is 10% of a person’s income. Some of you nay ask if that’s 10% on your gross or net income. Take a moment to ask God and then tithe on the income that He says. God will cause your tithe to be blessed.
Where does the tithe go? Your tithe goes to the local church. The church that you attend on a regular basis. You can give offerings to other ministries or churches, but 10% of your income should go to the place of worship you attend. Because the tithe is God’s way of keeping the lights and heat on. It provides the means to reach out into the community- the means in which to give benevolence to people in need.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where you treasure is, there your heart will be also,” Matthew 6:19-21.
8 Blessings of the Tithe
The tithe enables you to prove your faith in God as your source. Your 90% with God’s blessing will go further than 100%!
It enables you to prove God in your finances. Try 10% and see what happens. You will see God work on your behalf! The practice of tithing provides a regular reminder of your dependence on God. In good times, tithing helps you remember that God is the source of all blessings, and it allows you to demonstrate your gratitude for His care. In hard times, tithing motivates you to remember God’s faithfulness, and it enables you to demonstrate trust in God to provide for all of your needs.
God promises to open the windows of heaven on you. God will pour out blessing on you!
There shall not be room enough to receive the overflowing blessings!
God will rebuke the devourer for your sake.
There shall be no losses. I have authority to stand against satan the thief. “I tithe, so enemy, you can’t steal from me! Now or ever!”
People will call you blessed. People will see your blessings.
You shall be delightful in the eyes of people because you are delighted.
God has given the church the spiritual principle of tithing to see supernatural increase- increase over the church and the individuals within the church!
Prayer of Declaration
Pray this over your tithe:
“Father, I believe Your word. I honor You with my tithe. You are my total source, my supply. You are the only One big enough to meet all of my needs. I give You my tithe with great appreciation and expectation because of Malachi 3:10-12. I see at least 8 blessings You promised on tithing. Father, thank You for rebuking the devourer on my behalf. I plead the blood of Jesus over my possessions. I will always give my tithe with positive expectation. Father, I beseech you, send prosperity. In Jesus’ name, amen!”
