Come Walk with Me.
Come Walk with Me. what a thought. Walking. When I think about walking I can’t help but think about the start of my relationship with my fiancé, Justin. Early on we would walk for hours and hours just talking getting to know each other. This built a lot of trust and intimacy in our relationship. We grew very close on all our walks; these times are probably some of the fondest memories of our relationship.
Just think about it, in the garden, Adam got to walk with God, His creator! He got to see the beautiful face of our Savior! Enoch walked so closely with God, that one day God just took Him to heaven! Moses begged God to walk by him so he could just see a glimpse of his Heavenly Father. God wants to do this simple but extreme activity with us too. James 4:9 says, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” He wants to hold our hands and take us under His arm and protect us and just be with us. He wants to know everything that is happening in our lives and He wants us to tell Him, He is willing to listen. He always has an open ear. He wants us to be in His presence, all the time. He wants us to be like Him. He wants us to live for Him. He wants to be our Father.
We should want to give up everything in our lives to obey God, but we don't. We hold on to what we think is most important, when really God is what is most important in our lives. God just wants a relationship with us and all we need to do is believe and trust in Him and know that He is always there. He will never leave us or forsake us. He will lift us up when we are down. He will heal own broken hearts and mend our painful wounds. Why won't we just let God be in control over everything? I think that we should all strive to trust God more in everything we do, think and say. Trust more, worry less!
